welcome to my booklog! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
finally i'll have something a bit more reliable to keep track of my reading escapades. i tend to read rather sporadically, so the updates for this section may be inconsistent.
my 2024 and 2025 lists are not in order, because i have Bad memory for these types of things.
starred books are those i love/like! thank you for dropping by!
pachinko, min jin lee
a short, melancholic story set by the seaside. it didn't incite a strong emotion within me, but i feel so drawn to this story.
okay well, this one scarred me i cannot even think about it or i will wither. reading the summary couldn't have prepared me for this.
i have mixed feelings about this. i enjoyed reading the main character's story, but the constant switching povs with other characters was a bit annoying.
words cannot describe how much i love this book.
many tears were shed while reading this. written like poetry.
yoshimoto banana's writing consistently evokes a very specific kind of emotion in me - a peaceful kind of sad.
a short and sweet story about human connection and found families. a must read if you're into japanese literature!
this book was painful to read but so worth it.
